on your genitals when you are swelling is it very important to get it checked out?

Question: On the right side of the fleshy part of the genital area there is a swelling, it is not too big but it is hurting when either sitting or standing. It started with a small bump that looked like a bug bite but ended up swelling.

Answers:
This could be a cyst or pimple. It may go away with time. If there is only one, you should not be immediately concerned.

Don't let anybody but a doctor tell you if it is an STD or not.

If it does not go away after a few days, you should have it examined by your doctor.

OK, it may not be an std (that's just an ignorant answer) but it could be, and it could be a host of other things as well. Women's issues are serious one's so please....go get checked ASAP.

I suggest you go get this checked soon before it gets worse... If it was hurting, im wondering why you didnt go get it checked soon, but i guess that doesnt matter anymore... it could be anything -- serious or minor.. go get it check out... good luck with that ;)
