Answers:
i want to share that when i went to nursing school, i was sure i wanted to do L&D as well, but when i did my obstetric rotation i totally changed my mind!
i think you should wait a while before even considering which advanced practice path to take.
and, good luck! ;o}

As a RN, I only see midwifes working in L&D. We don't have anyother advanced practice nurses. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy Obstetrics as much as I do!
Before thinking of furthering your education, why don't you finish first your RN degree first and work in L&D. This way you can see how nurse practitioners, midwives and PAs function. Being a RN you have many options, you can either become a nurse practitioner or clinical specialist specializing in obstetrics or women's health. Good luck.
once you have finished RN training, you to do at least a year on the job, to better understand the type of work involved. In Mich. Western Michigan University requirements of time that include the number of work and school hours in the medical field.

good luck the ob/gyn needs good nurses
When you are in nursing school as part of your training, you should be able to spend some time in each department. Maybe you can get some answers with a little hands-on training. Good luck, as the world has a nursing shortage and we could use all the good nurses we can get.
I am not, nor have I ever been in nursing. One thing I did learn in life though, you don't know what you truly love until you experience it.

Finish your training and go and see what makes you happy. Take the job that sounds the best and if you do not really love it, find another and move on instead of staying where you are not happy.
bless your heart string
