Answers:
It most likely is a harmless cyst if it's been there for that long and hasn't caused any problems. If it's changed shape or size, though, it may be a cause for concern. Either way, your doctor should be able to tell you what it is and whether you need to worry about it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Other Answers:
If you'va had it since you were born there's probably nothing to worry about. It might be a cyst. I have quite a few, even one in my brain that I've had forever. I would suggest that if you are worried about it then go to the doctor and get it checked. It really doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about though if you have had it all your life, unless it has changed in either size or shape then their might be something wrong.
Well it doesn't sound very acute if your parents say you've had it all your life.
This doesn't mean it's completely harmless, go see a doc.
The doctor will be able to see and feel it and make a better diagnosis or send you to someone who can.
But it could very well be a harmless fat-lump or a weirdly twisted muscle.
It's just better not to gamble with stuff like this.
