Could twins in different sacks be identical or does that mean they wont be?
Question:
Answers:
Separate embroyic sacks definitely means they will not be identical.identical is only when they are from the same egg & the egg has split & they are in the same embroyic sack.
However, many fraternal (not identical) children look very similar. ie the Olson twins. :-)

twins in diff sacks means fraternal twins, not identical ones.congratulations t ur sis in law
I thought that twins had to share a placenta to be identical, but that they could be in different sacks. In 1999 I had Identical twin boys. They were born at 24 weeks and didn't make it. They did have separate sacks and were identical. If they share a placenta then they are identical. Tell her to talk to her doctor to make sure. After I answered this and saw everyones answer that it was not going to be identical I researched it to make sure. What I can tell you is that identical twins can share a sack and can be in seperate sacks. the only way a twin will be identical is if the egg split in 2 which made the twins.Other than that 2 eggs fell and got fertilized and they will not be identical.
They will not be identical, that's for sure!
For example, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are fraternal twins, but not identical even though they look it. So it's possible they'll look almost identical fraternal twins
I had twins sons 19 years ago. They were in different sacks. There was two placentas and the only thing they shared was a blood vessel between the two sacks. They were not identical. Although they do have the same hair color and the same eye color they are still fraternal. I have a web site for you to go to it can give you alot of information about twins.
