How long for bleeding to stop after ending the depo shot?

Question: I was on the depo shot for about 10 months. It was the worst thing ever! I don't recommend it to anyone. Everyday was hell, I spotted almost everyday for those 10 months. I didn't get my shot this time due to the spotting and annoyance of it and I would like to be able to get pregnant by the end of this year so I decided to switch to the pill. Could anyone tell me how long until the bleeding(spotting) stops? This is not only annoying, but uncomfortable.

Oh wow! I do feel your pain. I had one depo shot in February and was due again in April but refused to get another because of the horrible side effects! I bleed for two and a half months straight and have not had a period since then. My doctor said it could take a year or more for my body to straighten out again. Luckily, my husband got a vasectomy recently and now I will never need birth control again. What kind of symptoms are you having? I think Depo Probera should be taken off the market.
