(Ladies) Nuvaring : Good/Bad?
Question:
Experiences/Information?
My girlfriend is thinking of starting to use it and I'm just wandering what the advantages/disadvantages are about and what's worth knowing about it.
Answers:
I have it and haven't had any problems with it. You put it in for three weeks, then take it out for a week to have your period. after the week, you just put a new one back in. It's a lot easier than the pill because you don't have to remember to take it every day. That also makes it more effective than the pill, because if you forget a pill, then theres a higher risk of pregnancy. The ring is a flexible plastic like material and it fits right where a tampon would. It's about as big around as a dollar coin. You can't even feel it. I've had it for about a year and the only odd thing that has happened was it has popped out during sex. Not all the time, just twice I think. My fiancee says he can feel it sometimes, but it doesn't bother him. When I first got it, my gyno gave me a free sample, to make sure it would work for me. It came with a timer and it beeps when you have to take it out or put a new one back in.
