I was on my period a week and a half ago,yesterday i forgot to take my pill and came on again!?

Question: I was on a week and a half ago, yesterday i forgot to take the pill then today i came on! is this what happens if u forgot to take the pill for a day or so? u come on even though u was only 1 week ago? why?

this happens because you missed the pill-it is very common. here is a little education about the pill, you are not having a "period" on the pill. you are having a breakthrough bleed. real periods are controlled by hormones from your brain and ovaries. the pill interrupts this normal cycle. the "period" you have on the pill is only happening because you stopped taking the pill-the last 7 pills have no hormones so you have stopped your pills and you have a breakthrough bleed for a few days. if you take pills late or miss them - you spot also -because you have taken away the pill just like with the inactive week

Sometimes the birth control pill can work to give you shorter periods so if you miss one you may spot a little. Just continue to take them daily and if it persists I would suggest to get on a different pill. This is completley normal to have just annoying.
