mri's and what they determine?
Question:
Answers:
An MRI is an imaging technology that lets a doctor look at specific anatomical structures. Like an X-ray will image bones, an MRI can image areas of the brain or other softer tissues. The brain is rather complex. Damage or structural changes to specific areas of the brain may be associated with mental illness. The MRI will assist the doctor in trying to identifying an underlying cause for mental symptoms, and aid in his treatment plan. You should consult a physician or mental health site for more information.
Other Answers:
It all depends on what type of illness. MRI is very good for things such as MS and Cancer. It's not so hot for the diseases which don't have a visible sign available like Alzheimers or Parkinson's. MR can be used but the accuracy isn't neary as high in predicting disease states.
