brown discharge after unprotected sex??
Question:
Answers:
It is always a little disconcerting to have an unusual discharge, but keep in mind that it could be a number of different things. I would suggest that you consider the circumstances around the time that you had sex. If you had sex around the time of your normal period than it may just be a normal discharge. Your vagina is normally self-cleaning and designed to rid itself of dead cells and organisms, therefore resulting in a colored mucus or brown discharge. Check your calendar and consider where you were in your cycle the last time you had sex.
While this discharge may be normal, it may also be a sign of a condition (i.e. vaginal infection, sexually transmitted infection) that should be checked out by a doctor. I suggest that you make an appointment with a physician if you are worried that what you are experiencing after sex may be more than just “normal” discharge.
