how do you deal with someone who brings you down makes you sad, and insecure?

I have a friend who lives with her uncle and aunt, her uncle is the main problem, he is constantly making rude comments about her body/figure constantly saying she will get fat and criticising everything she eats (she is fit and skinny and athletic) he is 70 and has a huge gut and is constantly putting her down. Its taking a toll on her and I would like to give her some good advice, anyone can tell me what to say to her? or have any articles I can forward to her? I already told her she that he is doing it to make himself feel better about himself. She has to live with them she is going to school and they are letting her live at their home for very cheap because her parents don't live in the same state she goes to school at. Thank you!

lemme say something first and that is SCREW HIM!! but i think i know the problem, her uncle is insucure about his weight that he worries about her getting the same way, he is really trying to show concern but something is making him not do that for example: he may not like girls, no that doesnt mean he is gay he just hates them. i have a dad like that, when i was young i fell off my bike, flip over the handle bars and landed right on my knees, on a big stone. my leg is completly ripped up and im lieing on the ground crying and bleeding. he told me to get back up and ride my bike home.so i did, and people passing us were ofering bandaids and he didnt take one. he let my huge cut naked. but it seems like your friend has a worse problem than mine, my mom told me that my dad loved me but men cant so effection unless it involves intercoarse and that is the way men just are, but your friends uncle seems to have a troubled past maybe he was abused. but there is something that is making him more bitter than the average man. hope i helped, tell your friend good luck. oh and i still have a scar from the bike accident.

just ignore him. look at him you should feel sorry for him. he just says the first thing that comes to his head.
