Transition from Registered nurse to midwife in dallas texas?

Question: Has anyone actually ever done that here in dallas ?If so how long was the program? how much was it?? and Where? I've been looking for midwifery schools but everytime i get in touch with one they have closed down and moving to a diff university. I was also wondering if that would be the best carreer path to choose?i plan to get my associates degree from a comm college then get some experience then go to Tx women's uni to get a masters degree? is this a good carreer path or is there an easier way? thanks

I have no idea. But I've often thought of becoming a midwife or at least a lamaze teacher. Do you have to be a nurse first, before becoming one of those?
