I went to my GP because!?

Question:

I found a lump in the back of my neck a few years ago but noticed it had got bigger,GP said it's sabacious cyst and needs to be removed
next week do i have to or can i live with it.

Sebaceous cysts are usually harmless and are usually from swollen hair follicles. They can stay for years without bothering you. However if they are getting bigger, I would have them removed or at least checked by my doctor. It may occasionally become infected and form into painful abscesses. Mind you, there is a possibility that it could recur after excision.

i have had one on the roof of my mouth for the past 20 years, and it has'nt bothered me, so unless it is getting bigger and is bothering you leave it alone, but just keep an eye on it

Dear,just consult with a good surgeon.as far as I got it's neither life threatening,nor necessary to be removed.I have a friend of mine with the same problem,he hesitated at first ,then decided to undergone under surgical procedure and after time the same lump appeared again..That's because once formed they can be removed,but it's a question of time or luck not to be re-appeared..Good luck!
