missed pill, when should i start the next pill pack?

so I missed the last pill on my 21 pack, d'oh! i only noticed when i got my period a day early. my question is, do i now have to start the next pack a day early or can i start on the same day of the week as i usually do? would i need a back up method if i didn't start the next pack one day early? and if i do need a back up method, for how long? one day? one week? thanks.

WoW thats alot of questions. Firstly be very aware missing or even being late 10 minutes on "the pill" can increase your chances of pregnancy so primarily if you dont wanna chance it dont have sex until your back on track for at least 1 week, longer if your really cautious. But as for having missed a pill just continue as if you had taken it and if you are suppose to start a new pack start a new pack. Hope everything works out. Good luck and be safe.

You can start the new package exactly as if you didn't miss the last pill. It happened to me too, believe me it's not a biggie.

Keep to your same schedule but use a back up method or you'll have what known as a "birth-control" baby.
