I am going through a very similar problem. I was on the pill from the age of 16 through 25. Since I came off the pill 8 months ago I haven't had a period.
My doctor says I shouldn't worry and it may take up to a year for my cycle to settle down.
The pill works by putting hormones into your body to prevent pregnancy. It takes time for your body to adjust after you stop putting the hormones in.
You probably have absolutely nothing to worry about and your periods will come back over the coming weeks and months. If you are still worried though - go and see your doctor to put your mind at rest.
Have you contacted your doctor? It is normal up to certain point, that your period is unbalanced after quitting the pill. This is because your body has been used to getting hormones from the pill, and now it is suddenly not getting those hormones. It can throw off your cycle for a while, probably the next two or three months. But just to make sure, I would suggest you seek medical attention to it.
