What's effective for urine infection?

Question:
My sister gets strong urges to run to the restroom. When she is done, only a drop of urine results. She describes the horrible pain as a burning sensation. She has tried rubbing a tomato on her belly as well as drinking lots of cranberry juice, but no results. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and greetings!!

Your best bet is to see a doctor. But....I have no insurance and I'm kind of a natural health nut so I did some research the last time I had a bladder infection and guess what, it worked.

First of all, go get some Azo Standard (or a generic version of the same drug). It won't cure the infection but it really helps with the pain.

Your sister needs to drink lots of water or beverages. Flushing it out is part of the cure. 3 qts a day or more.

The last time I was camping so I started with lots of cranberry juice and azo. By the next day I was doing a lot better, but I wasn't cured. Cranberry juice helps keep the bacteria from sticking to the urethra so it IS a way to get it out of the system.

Then I got some Uva Ursi. It turns out that this is what was prescribed for bladder infections before there were sulfa drugs to treat it, so it has been an effective cure for centuries, and it doesn't create antibiotic resistence, which is a good thing. You can buy it as a tincture at any natural food store and possibly GNC (I didn't look there). You put 30 - 40 drops in a small amount of water and drink it 3 times a day.

The only problem is, that Uva Ursi needs an alkaline environment to work and cranberry juice makes the urin acidic, so STOP the cranberry juice.

Also it is important to try to limit any sugar intake until the infection is gone as the bacteria feed off the sugar. That's the problem with most Cranberry juice is that it isn't pure juice, it's a mixture that includes sugar or high fructose corn syrup, which is worse. YOu can get pure cranberry juice, but it's bitter. If you do, dilute it a bit with water or sparkling water and add some splenda.

This should fix it completely in a few days. I think I had complete relief the first day with the Uva Ursi, and I took it for 3 more days to be sure it was cured.

I think this all cost maybe $15 including the generic Azo.

It worked as fast as any drug I've been given and I like that it isn't an antibiotic. It will be my cure of choice from now on.
If cranberry juice did not help, it's time to see the doctor.
