Most women ovulate on 10-14th day after their cycle begins (days after they start their period = start bleeding). You can also check your body temperature - I believe it's done early in the morning and it will be elevated around the time of ovulation. Also, you can use the over the counter ovulation testing kits. They are good, unless you have a PCOS, in which case they don't work.
First of all you will not find an OB on this site. Having said that..... The first day you start your period is day one. Somewhere between days 12-15 you should ovulate if you are regular. Signs to look for are thickening of and increase in cervical mucous. Some women have a little pain on the side that is ovulating. Sperm can survive for up to 3 days in the females body so if you have sex on day 11 and ovulate on day 13 you have an increased chance of pregnancy. IF you do not conceive and are regular you should start your period on day 28 which then becomes day 1 again. They sell ovulation test kits that work like pregnancy tests at the pharmacy . If you count your days , think the signs are right but want confirmation use a kit. They usually come 3 to a pac. Also to increase your odds , immediatly following sex try to lay in bed for 30 minutes dont rush off to the bathroom.
If your period comes regularly, you will normally ovulate 14 days prior to the first day of your next period. That means have lots of sex 15, 14, and 13 days before your next period is due to start. (Days before is more accurate than days after your last period.)
You can also measure your temperature every day when you first wake up in the morning, before you get out of bed, and record that temperature. Ovulation is usually accompanied by a change in basal body temperature of (I think) 0.8-degrees Fahrenheit.
Good luck -- and have fun! -- trying to conceive. (And officially speaking, we don't consider a couple to have fertility problems until they have failed to conceive after a year of actively trying...)
You need to use the Sympto-Thermal method. Check out the site below.
