How old are women when they stop their peroids?

Question:
I am 47 and have very heavy painful peroids. When will it stop?? ~Karen~

Answers:
it varies with different women but you can ask your mother and aunts and this will give you a ballpark figure... having heavy periods needs to be checked out by your doctor. If you have been, did the doctor tell you that you have fibroids, endometriosis or some other medical condition? Even though you are 47 you may just be entering the perimenopausal stage which occurs right before the onset of menopause. the total process of menopause could take quite a few years and is not over until you have gone one year without a period.. Realistically you could be 60 before you completely stop having periods.

Other Answers:
Ask your mom when her periods stopped. this is the best predictor for you.
It depends. Not everybody stops at the same age.
It depends on the person,. everyone is different...perhaps you should see your doctor and get a referral to a gynaecologist..or see a naturopath to help you deal with the problems as the symptoms arise.
MIne stopped after my uterus was removed, obviously..other wise..I was 9 when they began :(
I would have to say the ages between 43 and 47ish
My mother when her end period
she had a very heavy and painful period
may be in her 49
i think it stop in age 45 and maximum 48
i was in my 50's.
It varies. Every women is different. I know my grandmother stopped having hers when she was 65. My mom when she was 52. So it all depends on the women's body.
