What could've happened?

Question:
A few years ago, I was in the doctor's office and my mom was filling out registration forms about her and I. I looked over her shoulder, and she was at the page about her. She wrote that she had had 5 pregnancies and 4 births. There are only 4 children in my family (including me, of course). She wasn't pregnant then (she had had her tubes tied or something, it came up in a fight between her and my father). She wrote that she had had no miscarriages and no abortions. I haven't asked her about it, and I don't think it was a mistake. What could've happened?

Answers:
that is a very sensitive topic that only your mother can answer and others only speculate. i suggest you ask her out of respect for your family, and her. it is only right

Other Answers:
it could of been a mistake
Could one of the births produced twins and one did not live?
maybe when your mom was younger she got preg. and she could not keep it so she decided to adopt the babby out.
talk to her my mom had to abortions when I was young and I think all the time I could've been one of those but it does help to talk to them and be careful when talking to her it might be a touchy subject for her. Good luck
Maybe the child die or given up for adoption.
One child could have been still born or one child could have been adopted out. Those are the only two possibilities if she told the truth in filling out the form. It is a sensitive topic and I would approach it with compassion and not be defensive or try to make it about you.
abortion :(
twins would have been counted as one pregnancy: two births. Is it possible that she had a child earlier in her life that she gave up for adoption?
abortion or dead twin
death or adoption.
