does the Contraceptive implant stop you from having your period? if not does anything?

Question:
im goin to the army and i dont want to have my period while im there. and plus i dont wanna go on the pill lol

Answers:
Depo Provera will stop your period (does for almost all who go on it). You may bleed for a couple of weeks after getting the first shot. But, after that you shouldn't bleed at all if you get your shot on time every 3 months. But, after going off of it you could take 3 to 5 years to be able to get pregnant and if a pregnancy occurs prior to that time frame, it is likely to end in miscarriage at the end of the first tri-mester or beginning of the second trimester.

I do not know if the contraceptive implant stops periods or not. Depo is the only one I know of.

Implant will not stop you period the only contraceptive I know that will is the shot. I really think it is in your best interest to got some birth control. Do think that nothing can happen to you be pro active and think I will be prepared for what ever comes.
I'm getting ready to get the Mirena IUD inserted in 2 weeks and that is supposed to make your periods very light or nothing at all. You just have to make sure if your not in a monogamous relationship that you use condoms because if you get an STD while on it it will cause scar tissue which can lead to infertility. I'm assuming your young to and so I am. I'm 21 and never had a child but me and my dr. decided that this was the best for me. Look into that. Also, I know the shot(depo) stops your periods but it also does for years after you come off of it and many people have a hard time concieving afterwards. I've also heard about horrible side effects from it. Look into Mirena.
Yes and no. There is no definitive answer. I had Implanon put in and it stopped my period for a year and a half and returned to normal for the final year and a half. However, every woman will react differently to it and from friends, I can conclude that it is the best method in the hope of stopping your period.

The pill is no good for that (long-term), neither is the injections. The coil will not have that effect, so although it is not guarenteed to stop your period, it is the best chance of doing what you re looking for.
the contraceptive injection is the only thing that will stop your periods its called a depo and you need to get a jag every 2-3 months
As someone mentioned before, the birth control injection Depo Provera can stop a woman's period. But, after receiving these injections for one year, only 55% of women stop having periods. However, in the meantime...your periods can become (and usually do become) extremely irregular and you can bleed erradically (like on and off at odd times during the month with no rhyme or reason).

I was on Depo Provera for 3 years. I bled very irregularly for the first year, then my period did go away.
