I'm 18 and want the birth control pill. Will my family doctor tell my parents?
Question:
Answers:
Not if you're 18. Also, think about if you want it billed to your insurance. Your parents whouldn't be able to see the name of your medication but they could see that you get a medication on a regular basis. So think about paying out of pocket(not using insurance) or finding a clinic where you can get the pills cheaper.
Other Answers:
no you're of age...also doctor patient confidentiality
no
No they shouldnt. ur an adult now and u dont need ur parents permission. dont forget to make him use a condom too, birth control doesnt always work.
18=adult So, no!
No... your an adult!
No, you're an adult, and the whole doctor/patient confidentiality thing.
No, legally they can't.
However, do keep in mind with something like medications and/or any tests...it WILL show up on some kind of bill or insurance if you're under your parents' insurance.
no its against the law besides your of age your parents couldnt really do anything about it
no thare is such thing as patient doctor confidentality
first of all, your 18. you can do whatever you want now. you are an adult. and second of all...no i do not think that they will tell your parents...just go into a health clinic and ask for the pill...you can be anonomus if you want to be.
You are of age. Your parents have no buissness in it. If he tells them, you can sue.
By law they better not!
Of course you realize that the pill does absolutely nothing to prevent a scorching case of herpes, A.I.D.S., gonorrhea, or syphilis?
If your doctor tells your parents, you sue him. That is a violation of the HIPPA act. Private Health information is between the Patient and various medical proffessionals. So if your Doctor, or Pharmacist tells your parents. The money is yours for the taking.
No, because you are technically an adult... But you could try going to Planned Parenthood where everything is confidential and usually at little or no cost to you.
maybe
In most states, you are in the clear.
no, confidential, still use a rubber, to prevent std's
Hiya ,
The Doctor has a thing called the confidentially oath they can't tell ... or the doc can be sued.
Doctors are not to speak about their patients ... even if you are the mother asking about your child...i take my son to the doc's office and he go's in on his own ...i have no right to know what they are talking about ... unless its a life threatening problem ...then the doctor will advise you that you should ask the mother / father in and talk things over ...
but Birth control is not life threatening so ... you are safe ... and may i say you are smart ... i would be proud if you were my child ... thinking of your future ...
Good Luck and don't worry
