Spotting while taking BC pills???

Question:

My period started Sept 19th. I took my first BC pill that night. (Ortho Tri Cyclen has the option for 1 day start-where you start the pack the first day of your period.) My period ended Saturday. But I am still having light brownish discharge. I went to my Doc this past Monday for a well-woman check up. She did a papsmear and made no mention of the brownish discharge. (She knew my period had just ended) But it is now Thursday and there's no change. This is my first time using the pill in a few years. Could that be the reason? Just need some advice or input from other women with similar experiences. Thanks

spotting is totally normal when you start (or stop) using the pill. Give your body a few months time to adjust and get back on schedule and it should go away. Always trust your instincts though, if you really feel like something is wrong, then go see your doctor.
