female doctors only please!!!?
Question:
my menstrual cycle has never been normal since i got it at an early age (11). however over the years, im now 17, it started to become regular and i noticed that if i were to have sex 5-7 days before i was supposed to get it, then it would completly skip the month and the following month it would come earlier than usual. okay well i havnt gotten it in 6 months, due to my boyfriend... but i was wondering if this is normal? i know im not pregnant because ive taken a million and one pregnancy tests and hav also gottent the blood pregnancy test...
another thing is that i got cramps 3 days ago and it looks like i got my period, but it looks like its in its last stages, which is def. not normal because my periods are really heavy the first two days n now its very very very light...
shuld i go see a doctor or wait???
Answers:
Since your periods have always been irregular this could be just more of the same. It could be a hormonal imbalance. If you are athletic, periods tend to be irregular or stop completely. Either way because you are sexually active you should see a gynecologist.
You don't mention whether you are on the pill? The pill can make very light periods. Sometimes you would skip a month.
If you aren't and you are still not getting regular periods, you should definitely see you GYN doctor.
first of all... your boyfriend doesn't have anything to do with your periods. So don't blame him. Have you started on any birth control treatments?? if you have that could be a reason why your not getting your period. And also, your only 17, have you gotten any pap tests? This may include STD tests too. Your too young to be sleeping around, even with the fragile state your body is in.
As for your last period, if you cramp and bleed, your ok. But I see that you have waited already 6 months to even try to ask someone if this is ok.... THAT IS NOT OK!! if I missed 2 periods, i would be seeing a doctor pronto. Hunny, it's time for you to take some responsiblity for your body. If you don't like my answer go see a real OBGYN so she can do a complete physical on you. Oh and remember, make sure that you get that pap test done, cause you could have a very serious problem called HPV. Check it out.
I am not a female but I hope my knowledge will be helpful for you.I don't think it is related to your sexual activity. It is because of the hormonal levels that you have irregular periods. You should go to doctor because you may have PCOD.
