I have a question about my birth-control pill!?

Question:
I am going on vacation in a few weeks and will be on my period. I heard that if you continously take your next pill pack it will help prevent your period. Does anyone know if I can do that with Ortho-Tricycolen low pills?

Answers:
I don't believe you can. Your pill needs to be a monophasic pill. I believe your particular brand is a tri-phasic. Also if you plan on a trip in a few weeks you would most likely will not have enough time to get your body used to the new dosage. You should talk to your doctor as to the best pill for you but there are now so many choices that if you would like to determine your cycle I strongly advise talking to your doctor about switching to a monophasic pill. This will alow you to have your period about every 3rd or 4th month. That's only about 4 a year!

Yes, it works, i did it when i went on a cruise a few months ago I've done it, not on ortho tri cyclen low, but on the regular one, and it worked fine.
