kinda gross.. you may not want to read........how much blood loss is too much? during menstration?

Question:
I got my period today, and I am bleeding what I would consider profusely, tampons are not working, and I've gone thru about 10 pads; there are also heavy clots.. however, I am not dizzy nor feeling badly in anyway, just a little scared, should I be worried? what should I be looking for in signs of trouble? (I'm just trying to decide if I need to go to emergency room, or if it can wait till doctors open tomorrow) my husband is out of town, so I would have to drive myself, and I have no one to watch our daughter, so it is serious, but these are the reasons I haven't left for the ER yet... any doctors or nurses out there who can help?

Answers:
This happened to me once, it turned out to be a miscarriage- I would get to the doctor as soon as you can.

GO TO THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATLEY> THIS SOUNDS DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO A LOT OF BLOOD LOSS
GET A NEIGHBOR TO WATCH YOUR KID< YOU HAVE TO GO IN> ASAP
Okay, according to my health-care guide I have, it says that you should CALL a health professional if you are going through more than 8 pads or super tampons in 8 hours.
Is there any chance you would be having a miscarige? if there is go to the ER. I think I would go anyway because that really seems like alot. I wouldn't wait.
go to the ER, they can give you replacement blood. take your daughter if u must. good luck!
GO NOW.
go 2 the gyno ur period may b 2 hevay and get hever absorbancy pads
use your best judgment, if you start to feel dizzy and ill call 911, and tell them you have a small child who will need watching. i did that for 3 years and was very anemic, i had cancer and needed surgery, that was 20 years ago.
could you be having a miscarriage? some women just bleed more than others and some have heavier periods at times. If your not dizzy, cramping bad, have a fever or feeling awful, you can probably wait until tomorrow. But, I would get to a doctore asap in the morning. Hope this helps.
Sounds like a miscarrige. Get to the doctor or ER.
It does seem to be a bit heavy. Can you get a friend to come over and stay with you. It may be nothing more than a heavy period but if it keeps up you may have to visit the ER. I can understand your concern. Try resting and do get someone to stay with you, even that will relieve your mind a little.
go now honey, sounds like you're miscarying, and possibly hemoraging
It sounds like you could be ha ving a miscarriage. You need to go the Emergency room. If you have to take your daughter with you.
I've had it to the point where I went through a super and leaked all over my pants in 20 min.. but this sounds worse.. I would go to the hospital because it could be a miscarrige... or something... just go and make sure its alright.. bring your daughter to the hospital if you can't get anyone to watch her, they'll be fine with her being there... good luck.

God bless.
It could have something to do with your ovulation cycle being off. This same thing happened to me and my gyno gave me some birth control pills to regulate my period.
