I have a serious question? SERIOUS ANSWERS NEEDED!?

This is probably easier for women but mens answers apperciated.
Ive been having terrible periods. There is this pain in my lower stomache that is so painful it makes me cry. My doctor has prescribed me iron medication because she says that the reason I feel terible during my periods is because Im anemic. Ive only taken the pills for like a week. Do you think it could be something worse? Do you know a good website with info on this?

promblem spot on bottom of foot?

Answers:
See if the iron pills work for you first. If they do not seek more medical answers such as endometriosis. With this condition you have painful periods and also you can skip periods. You can check on the net to read more on this condition.

Is there some reason you don't trust your doctor? Or why you feel a website or someone you don't even know is more reliable? Your doctor has given you good advice. It takes a while to become anemic, and it takes a while to get over it. If you don't feel you are making progress, go back to your doctor and tell her so. Let her suggest what your next step should be.

Girls - At what age did you start puberty and did it affect how you looked and acted?

Anemia makes you tired and listless. The horrible periods can be any number of things. Do any of the things like Ibuprofen and / or Max Strength Pamprin work for you? I take 2 pamprin and an Ibuprofen or 2 to help with mine.

The pain can be from Endometriosis, Fibroids, ovarian tumors, overian cycts, cervical stenosis, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, etc.. the list goes on and on. I would go see an OB/GYN for the issue.
I've had the Endo burned out and they put me on pills to stop it from growing so fast.

What is a good birth control pill?

I am not sure about your doctor! My daughter had the same thing and our doctor put her on the birth control pill and her periods are 100% better now. It sounds like you have iron deficiency anemia. This is very common in teenage years because of diet. Iron pills will fix the anemia, but your diet can also. All this means is your body is not producing enough red blood cells which are the carriers for oxygen to the body. Chances are you feel tired a big part of the time. Your period can increase your chances of getting this but it should not cause period pain. A great source of iron is red meats, very rich in iron. Also take iron pills with food, they tend to cause stomach upset, and your body will absorb them better if they are taken will orange juice, or any high in vitamin C drink. For the period pain, talk to your doctor again, or another one, because the low iron should not cause period pain, it will just make you feel tired, weak, and make it hard for you to concentrate.

weight for teens?

it takes longer than a week for the pills to get in your system i have terrible cramps also i use a heating pad on my tummy that helps so much so try it it will get better

Does anybody know where I can find out if my weight matches my height?

My first instinct is to go with what the doctor says. Anemia is serious and if your doctor did a blood test that shows you are anemic, having heavy periods makes it worse, so take the iron pills (and increase your intake of fiber, because some iron pills will constipate you).

Also, my sister used to have bad periods and she used ice packs on her tummy to deaden the pain.

When my pain was really bad, I used pamprin and that seemed to do the job.

If the iron doesn't help, you may want to ask your doctor about those birth control pills that only make you have 4 periods a year.

My last idea is that I usually have easier periods when I've been really good about getting my workouts that month, especially my crunches and other torso exercises.
