Hi! I had a tummy tuck and hip liposuction done in July, and I am thrilled with the results. I'll try to answer some of your questions.
I have no regrets. (Well, I guess if I could have afforded it, I would have had thigh liposuction, or a breast lift, or a butt tuck too!) I am a school teacher, so I did it over the summer and gave myself plenty of time to recover. YOU WILL BE HUNCHED OVER a bit....not like an old lady....but noticeable. Give yourself a solid two weeks before going back to work! Mobility will be limited, and you cannot drive until you are off the pain meds. I have 3 year old twins, and my mother came and stayed with us to help out. She was a huge asset! I would say I was "fully" recovered in about 4 weeks, maybe a little longer...and by that I mean I had no real mobility issues anymore. I have a HUGE scar from hip to hip, but it is low and no one knows.
In Connecticut, I paid about $8600, but I FINANCED it through Capital One Health Care Finance. They have a website. Check with your doctor to see if they have a financing company as well.
A tummy tuck is NOT weight loss! I only lost about 5 pounds, but what a difference it made in my body! It is a way to REMOLD your body. I had twins and was literally over-stretched to a point that my skin was "damaged" and loss it's natural elasticity. NOTHING I COULD EVER DO would remove the sag. And I was an aerobics instructor 4 years ago....I KNOW diet and exercise are the best way! My skin was stretched beyond repair. Now, my stomach is flat again....and people are not asking me of I'm pregnant! My self-esteem has increased a TON, and now when I lose weight, people can see the difference.
It has changed my life.
