i have my tubes tied can i still take birth control for my period. since having it done they are horrible?

Question:
i cramp much more than i did before and my period is alot worse. i have major mood swings and hate the way i am now

Answers:
*Definitely* talk with your doctor. Worse cramping and periods may be signs of something else going on. Your doc can check to make sure you don't have fibroids or something else causing the pain and problems. And if you're ok, your doc can recommend a wide variety of solutions for you...maybe continuous hormones like Seasonale or the ring, maybe ablation, depo, whatever. Don't just let it go. Check to see if your body is trying to tell you something.

Here's a really dumb idea - try seeing your OB/GYN.
I had my terrible menstruation all my adult life, in 1995 after my last child had my tubes tied for various reasons, my menstruation continually got worse I spoke to my gynecologist and since then have been on the deprovera injections and it has worked great very little cramping every few months and no regular menstruation. Make an appointment and talk to your doctor about it, they use birth control often for control of menstruation symptoms. Good luck!
Yes, continuing with birth control should help those symptoms especially if it did help before but it isn't the ideal solution as it isn't something you can keep taking for ever. There are other solutions including vitamins and herbal options etc. Best to discuss with your Gynae. about long term solution.
