I'm in the same boat as you, really not where I should be. Here's some tips I use:
Try just eating a little more in your meals each day. Try and take in at least 2000 calories each day, maybe a little more. But make sure you're eating healthily, and not just taking in empty calories. Eat a fully balanced diet, push yourself to clean your plate, but don't eat so much that you feel sick.
Exercising increases your metabolism, making you want to eat more and gain some weight (I know, exercising to gain weight seems kinda strange) and it'll make you a lot more healthy.
Talk to a dietian about some other things you can do. They'll probably be able to set out a good meal plan for you, and make suggestions.
You need to talk to a Registered Dietician. Ask your doctor for a referral.
