the outbursts are due to Hormonal imbalance during period time.If she is put on regular oral contraceptive pills or anti depressents for a short period of time she will overcome this problem.You need to consult a gynecologist

Advise her to see her doctor without seeming judgmental. When speaking to her be mater-of-facutal tell you that you won't tolerate that kind of behavior and that you honestly think she should see her doctor. Another approch but will only work if you've been together a long time is tell her you want to go to couples therapy, that will make it seem like you both have problems not just her. That kind of violent behavior is really exterme for PMS, there is a rare condition called pre-mentural psychosis but it is very rare.
I'd get the hell out of Dodge brother..That sounds like more than just a menstrual problem. That sounds like a deep seeded anger issue and the next time it may not be a pocket knife. More to the point she stabbeed you, regardless of what with.
she needs to learn to control herself , that's assult , tell her to go to the doctor , to get her hormones checked out , and also tell her to get an attitude change over , no matter how nasty your preiods are , you can control stabbing someone, your gf's just plain old nasty. Trust me.. that kind of physical anger is *not* pms. She might have a mental problem. Recommend she see a doctor, but if she refuses, get out of there. That is definitely not a healthy relationship.
