Why won't this itch go away? I went to my Dr back in March. She said it was a yeast infec. She gave me some

Question:
monistat topical creme and it didn't go away. I waited a few week (hoping it would go away on it's own) but finally I called and got some Diflucan. Another couple of weeks went by and I got some more Diflucan. So I changed soaps. I wash "there" with Dove and only Dove. So after a few weeks I was still itching so I called the DR who said to try eating yougurt. I did that. And it did seem to help for about a week or so... I am now "washing" 2-3 x a day. I itch only in the groin and it is sometimes so sore it's hard to even put my undewear on or even walk wihtout it botherring me. (probably from scratching so much) - but what do you do when it itches - I mean it's not like I can ignore THAT itch. It is very intense. And only in the groin. If my terminology is correct - the space between you leg and your *** and only on the left side. So today I ate an entire tub of yougurt (16 oz) and the itch left for about 1/2 hr. Sometimes washing "there" helps and sometimes not. Why won't it go away?

Answers:
I'm male so I have only heard war stories, but how about your panties, have you gotten new ones since you have had this problem? I have heard the yeast can survive a washing and you need to boil your panties or buy new ones, it just reinfects you every time you put them on. try some antihistamines for the itch, like benadryl, it will make you sleepy so take them at night.

Other Answers:
Try wearing only cotton underwear, it will keep the moisture away, and also try using dial soap (gold bar), are you taking antibotics, because sometimes they can also cause yeast infections and itching. My doctor even gave me some little green pills called hydrozine to take, but they make you real sleepy. Also you could just have sensitive skin like I do. But try those things, and drink plenty of water.
Are you on antibiotics alot. That can cause those kinds of problems. Perhaps any meds you are on could cause it. Go to web md and look up the medicines that you are on and see the side effects. Hope this helps. If it doesn't you are at the mercy of your doctor.
