What is a good birth control to use?

Question:

Answers:
I had a lot of issues with hormonal forms of birth control and was pleased to find The Today Sponge via an online Canadian pharmacy last year. I used it regularly when if first came out, then it's sale was discontinued in the US for some strange reason. It had something to do with FDA saying that the water quality used to activate the the spermicide in the item may differ from place to place, which may affect the sponge's effectiveness. Whatever- I never had a problem. It is starting to become available in the US again, although I have not seen it at my local pharmacy.
The way it works is threefold: the soft sponge acts as a diaphragm-like barrier to prevent sperm from entering the cervix. The little buggers are then absorbed by the sponge and can't get out due to the fact that they are KILLED by the imbedded spermacide that is activated when you moisten the Sponge before it is inserted.
Contrary to other barrier methods, The Sponge doesn't have to be replaced or relubed before each sex act. You can keep one in place for up to 24 hours so you can be spontaneous. It warms to your body temperature and my parter said he could not feel anything different most of time; he felt the elastic removal loop on occaision, but it was not an unplesant sensation.
All Seinfeld jokes aside, The Sponge is a great, inexpensive, hormone free method of birth control that I wish was more readily accessible in the US again.
No matter what method you use, KNOW YOUR BODY. Conception typically occurs on or around the 14th day from the start of your period. If you have a calendar, you will know when you are most likely to be fertile and can avoid sex on those days.
the IUD, also known as the coil. you can trust it and dont have to worry about forgetting it.
