Why are my ovaries hurting with no apparent reason?

Question:
I'm 2 weeks away from my next period, and my ovaries hurt as if I was about to have it today. It's been a constant, not too strong, pain for the last few days. What could be the cause?

Answers:
This may be normal pain of ovulation which is called mittelschmerz. If this happens every time then that may be it. You may also have an ovarian cyst. you may be pregnant or if extremely painful you can have an ectopic pregnancy. If it continues or gets worse see your physician. They may do an ultrasound to rule some things out. They may end up giving you some meds (contraception pills) to regulate the cycles and pain.
Ovulation can cause your ovaries to hurt.
