Tubal Ligation side effects?

Question:
I had a tubal 6 months ago and since then I have been on a hormone rollercoaster. I have hot flashes, I will be fine one minute and the next crying or mad at the world. My cycle is shorter, and heavier, I cramp like crazy it almost feels like I have a MAJOR case of PMS.. Has anyone else experienced this? I had my tubal after giving birth back in March. Very hard pregnancy..

Answers:
I also had a terrible delivery and decided to come back when my son was 1 month old and have my tubes tied. (The doctors didn't think I would survive another delivery.) The one thing they don't tell you is that you will have much worse cramping after this procedure! My period was always very heavy, lasting 7 days. After the tubal ligation it was even worse and the cramping was horrific. My periods were so bad that I couldn't even make it to the store with a super tampon and a pad, I had to put my sons diaper in my underpants. I finally talked to my o.b. and told them to give me a hysterectomy because I couldn't even enjoy raising my son like this. They started me on birth control because it was the least invasive procedure. After 1 year I couldn't stand the side effects of the pills and they finally agreed to give me a hysterectomy. But, I sort of chickened out so what I had done was called an endometrial ablation therapy. They basically put a type of balloon in my uterus and filled it with fluid. The fluid is then heated up and it burns the lining of your uterus. This procedure will either make you no longer have periods or make them much lighter. For me they are now much lighter, 3-5 days and the cramps are not as bad. Don't forget that you just had a baby so that is probably alot of your problem with your hormones. It takes quite a while for them to regulate back to normal. Also, just for your information, if you ever get an ultasound of your pelvis they may mistake the bands used to clamp your fallopian tubes as a possible growth and want to do a biopsy. This happened to me and once the doctor got inside she said everything was normal, the test was picking up the bands. If you continue having problems I would ask your doctor about some alternative treatments to resolve your problem. Ask them about the endometrial ablation. Good Luck!
you ll regret that later down the line
