Read or have her read what I just sent to another female in menstruation distress.

I sympathize with you... oh boy....

ok....

take Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate 100 mg every 2 to 3 hours till pain subsides. You also want to add dong quai. Zinc 10 mg is also good, but the first two are more important.

Secondly... reduce and elminate your intake of AA causing foods. Eggs, vegetable oils (soy, corn, canola, safflower, sunflower), hydrogenated anything...

AA stand for Arachadonic Acid. It is derived from mainly omega 6 sources and it causes an increase in estrogen.

Have instead if you have extra money, (and this is what you should be getting daily anyway), Flax Oil 3 tablespoons a day. Omega 3 will reduce premenstral distress. Reduce to 2 or 1 tablespoon when discomfort subsides.

Try to get your protein sources from fish and vegetables instead of red meat or poultry. Do get your complex carb not from flour but from whole grain like these:
*buckwheat
*amaranth
*quinoa
*brown rice
*oats -preferably whole

Why do I mention all this? Because most OTC pain meds only address your nervous system's response to pain. It doesn't address why the pain is there. Your period eliminates your body's resources of magnesium, and your muscles need magnesium for its strength and fluidity. When magnesium is depleted, your muscles (especially those around your stomach area) start to contract. Replace it and you'll be fine. Might take a day, but still... its better than the alternative.

Take it all month long to prevent your next cycle from this type of grief. Trust me. I know. I can vouch.

Also... bananas are high in sugar, the other thing that stimulates estrogen and subsequent period distress. If you are a sugar fanatic, try stevia instead. It comes in drops or powder. Other fruits are ok.
Midol has caffeine in it.
It can I cant take it it has the same effect on me as midol. I'd try it before taking when youre going to be going out or driving
Not usually. It has a dose of caffeine equal to that of a cup of coffee; most women get extremely hyper after taking it. I made the mistake of taking it and then drinking Mountain Dew half a day...haha, my friends got laughs out of how hyper I was.
