I am 12 wks pregnant. After several ultrasounds, my doctor is saying that the baby has no heartbeat. Worry?

Well let's just say that you definately need to get a second opinion and/or change your doctor.Honestly who in there right mind would say that and then allow the woman to go home?Any doctor that does that is a Quack!
My doctor would have admitted me into the hospital to do all kinds of tests to find out exactally why this is.
Please go get a second opinion or better yet go to your local emergency room ASAP!

well yes sorry to say but if we don't have a heart beat that normally means we are dead so if there is no heart beat well i would go to a different doctor to get a second opinion.

I wouldn't be overly worried yet unless you know the EXACAT date you got pregnant. Normally the heartbeat is not heard until at least the 11th week. Give it another week or so then be you may need to seek more help from your doctor.

You should get a second opinion. By the way if there where something to be worried about the doctor would have had said something. Also if the baby were dead you would have been operated by now.

I'm curious if they can see the heart beating on the ultrasound.You need to see a specialist for high risk pregnant women.They will do a 2nd or 3rd stage ultrasound for you to make sure the baby is okay.I'm surprised your doctor hasn't put you on a monitor or sent you to a specialist to check on that.But they should be able to see the heart beating on the ultrasound if there is a heartbeat.Please get another checkup from someone else.Always ask for a second opinion.

It really isn't that big of a deal now because you are so early into your pregnancy. when I was pregnant I didn't hear my babys heart beat until I was over 5 months along. My doctor also told me that usually it is not found until the baby is bigger. if it really bothers you discuss it with your doctor and he will reassure you that everything is fine. Your baby right now barely has a heart beat so it is not going to be able to be heard. good luck with everything

That depends . what kind of ultrasound? The kind on your belly, or the trans-vaginal? If it were me, I would insist that they do a trans-vaginal ultrasound (you're in the stirrups like you're getting a PAP smear, but instead of the giant Q-tip they put in a special wand that allows them to "see" what's going on inside your uterus), since it will pick up images of your baby and its heartbeat. Sometimes it can be hard to tell with the regular kind of ultrasound. So please either call your dr. and ask for a different ultrasound, or call *another* dr. and ask for more testing. Had more vaginal ultrasounds to look at my ovaries & uterus than I care to count!

Definitely go get a second opinion. Doctors can definitely be wrong, and this isn't something you want to mess with. When my aunt was pregnant, they told her all sorts of horrible things, like the baby was going to be born without a brain. That baby is now a perfectly healthy 7-year-old boy.
