I had a regular period last week and today I started again. Is that normal. Two periods in a month?

Question:
I have endometriosis and had surgery back in April for them to do a D&C.
I want to become pregnant again, but not sure if I am able to or what can help me.

Answers:
Re: the above answer - pregnancy does NOT CURE Endometriosis. That is an outdated, old wive's tale right up there "Endometriosis is a disease of older white women" and "pregnancy/menopause/hysterect. are the cures." The notion is outdated and absurd. As soon as the period returns after giving birth, the symptoms return. Unfortunately, though there are many different treatments that can temporarily alleviate symptoms, there is no definitive cure. That's what makes this painful disease so insidious. Anyway - back to your question: what you are describing is not "normal," but neither is it cause for alarm. Sometimes, given the hormonal issues associated with Endo, it's possible for the cycle to become awry every now and again. If it persists or if you become worried, ask your doc about it. Also - I was a bit concerned about your initial statement, re: surgery for them to do a D&C.is that all they did?? A D&C doesn't do anything for Endo whatsoever, nor can it diagnose Endo. Did they perform a laparoscopy, taking samples and biopses of suspected implants and sending them to pathology to confirm the presence of glands and stroma to diagnose Endo, and then did they treat the disease during the same surgery, such as with the laser? Or did they just do a D&C and send you on your way? Please see www.centerforendo.com, www.endocenter.org and www.endometriosistreatment.org for true, current and accurate information on the disease and treatments. Although Endo is a leading cause of female infertility, once effectively treated, fertility rates improve drastically and by more than even 75%, even at higher stages. Feel better and good luck to you. See the sites above to get the help you need.

Most of the time, if you have endometriosis, getting pregnant will cure it. Though, if you have extreme blockage or scar tissue throughout your fallopian tubes, there is a possibility that you will have a tubular pregnancy--which can be very dangerous. More bleeding after your period can mean that the endo is active again, though it could just mean that you are irregular--which is normal in some women. I would recommend going to your doctor and getting checked out. If conditions are worse or never healed after the surgery, a hysterectomy might be your only option--don't take that for granted though, I'm not sure how severe your situation is. Good luck. :)
This happens to me sometimes too. I always have my period at the beggining of the month but sometimes I get it around the 17th also. I think you can still get pregnant. You should probably check with your docter first though.
