can polycystic ovarian syndrome be cured?

Question:
no periods, overweight, bad acne, oily skin and facial hair

Answers:
I have it. I was just diagnosed and you need to get to a dr right away to fix this. It will not just go away on its own and it is very hard to lose the weight. I found out because we wanted to have a baby so I went off of bc pills. In 6 months I gained about 50 pounds!! I have stretch marks all over! I never got a period also. I had sever pain on the sides where my ovaries are. They said my testosterone is really high. So I have to take this med called glucophage or metphormine. If you do not want to get preg then they will just put you on bc pills and that will take most of the symptoms away. Since I have been taking that med I have lost some weight and feel a lot better, hopefully I will lose some more and then get preg. good luck!

You do not need to go to an endocrinologist. Just go to your OB GYN dr and they have the basic tools to help you. This is a very common thing and many many women have it.
Nope. Only if you have a hysterectomy. It can be treated with homones, but eventually you will probably need surgery.
