I'm been bleeding over a month now with blood clots.?

Question:

I have irregular period. When I was 16 yr old I started to have this problem. It would come once in a blue moon. And usually my period last for 5-7 days. And I remember last year my period lasted 2 months. That was weird I took some vitamins such as Geritol so I don't get weak. I'm so curious why am I bleeding like this with large clots, and small clots. Am I sick or its normal for womens. Can anyone tell me why? Please, thank you.
