????Period Questions????
Question:
Do you get cramps?
Is your period heavy?
How long does it last?
If you could, give me some more information, because I am 13 and expecting soon! I am so nervous!
Answers:
i have had mine for several years now. i did not start getting cramps until about a year ago, now they kinda suck but you can always take asprin, midol or use a heating pad (baths can make your flow heavier). sometimes i get headaches too. mine is very light usually lasts 3-5 days. it is still very irregular. my first time i had no symptoms or signs that it was coming and it lasted 8 days and was pretty heavy but it hasnt been like that since. i know someone said dont use tampons until you are atleast 16 but i did right at the very beginning (since i was 12) and i am so glad that i did. i dont think you should wear them at night if you sleep for more than 8 hours and if you are a super forgetful person them maybe you should not wear them but other than that they are perfectly safe. make sure you read the little peice of paper in the box, it will show you how to put them in and warn you about toxic shock syndrom just remember that tss is extremely rare and as long as you change the tampons every 8 or so hours you will be fine.
make sure you keep "supplies" on your backpack and purse.
when it does come it will take some getting used to and you will have to figure out how to deal but eventully it will be no big deal so try not to be nervous!
Yes, there will be cramping.
It varies on how light or heavy, depends on the individual.
It lasts between 3 - 7 days.
If you get on a birth control pill, it would greatly help to minimize the pain, heaviness, and length of your period, but as you are very young, I am not sure a doctor would prescribe. In the meantime, talk to your mother or an older female whom you know and trust. You will be okay.
Every woman's period is different. Classic symptoms are abdominal cramps, headaches, moodiness. The symptoms start about two days before the bleeding begins, and go away after another day or so. The average period lasts 4 to 7 days. I recommend to change your pad every 3 to 6 hours (depending on how heavy the bleeding is). Don't use tampons until you're at least 16.
