Does having a hysterectomy have an efect on the length of the vaginal canal?
Question:
Answers:
It depends what type of hyst is done. A partial/subtotal hyst in which only the uterus is removed and the cervix is left in place is the least invasive type of hyst, leaves the vagina the same length, and supposedly has fewer sexual side effects.
However, other forms - total and radical - in which the cervix and other organs are removed do shorten the vagina.
Depends on why you need the hyst and in which way it will be performed, as well as literally, what kind is being done. Talk to you doc about what's best for you. Good luck.
Other Answers:
It shortens it slightly... should not be noticable to you or your partner unless you use a ruler as a toy.
