girls only!!??

Question:
i am going on vacation tomorrow and unfortunatly have my period. i cant continue taking my birth control pills because of the brand so i am have to rely on tampons except i NEVER use them. I tried a few times to get used to it and it feels so uncomfortable. Is there any way to make it more comfortable? Everyone always talks about how wonderful they are but its just not happening for me.

Answers:
Chances are you're not getting the tampon "in" far enough. You really have to do your best to get the tampon really up there. If you use an applicator, get the front part in as far as possible, then push on the other tube to send it in even farther. Also, make sure you use the lowest absorbancy needed, for example if your period is light, do not use an extra-absorbant tampon.

Other Answers:
you gotta find the comfortable way to get them in.. but when you first start use the smallest kind then get to medium size, and in no time you too will appreciate the wonders of a tampon :) but seriously it just takes time to get used to is, just keep practicing

I know what you mean, having your period can be so aggravating! However, I've never used tampons before - I've always been too scared. Have you ever, like, read instructions on how to use a tampon properly? Maybe that'll help. Here's a site that gives step-by-step instructions for inserting tampons: http://www.beinggirl.com/en_US/pages/goods_tampinsert.jsp. Hope that helps. =)

Is it possible for you to use pads while you're on vacation? I know they're a pain, too, but that's what I use.

There's one in me right now and I don't feel it. It's about 3-4 time I use one but I didn't feel comfortable with them. I've always been afraid to put a tampon too deep, but now I understand that I should have put them much deeper. Just find a comfortable position when you put it in, don't hurry. They are usually uncomfortable if placed wrong = you can still touch/feel it with you finger when placed get a sex change and become a boy so you will never have to worry about your dumb period again.
