you inserted it properly, it won't hurt and you can't even feel them. you probably didn't push it far enough. go to www.beinggirl.com for instructions. they have the best tampon insertng instructions and they are easy to understand. =]

i felt the same way when i first got my period.. but i finally got up the courage and it did not hurt at all.. as long as you have it up far enough in the vagina. you can't feel it at all & it is soo much more comfortable than pads that i had been wearing! GOOD LUCK! =) It can be uncomfortable or even hurt if you don't have it in the right way. Read the manual that comes with the tampons, and consider starting out with a slimmer tampon. Try tampons made for teenagers. I think OB makes them. Good luck.
