Answers:
You may have dysmenorrhea. I was diagnosed with it at 16. Pain was so bad sometimes I couldn't walk. Birth control pills took it all away for me. A lot of times they are prescribed for that very reason, not to prevent pregnancy. Tell your mom you have severe menstrual pain and you think you should see a GYN. You don't have to mention the BCP's, just see what the doctor says. I'm not even sure if they'll give a 13 year old birth control pills anyway as I only work with adult patients. Either way, the severe pain should be evaluated by a doctor to make sure it's not something serious (as mentioned in the link I provided below). If it's just dysmenorrhea, he/she can prescribe medication, there are others besides birth control that can help control the pain. Here's a site with some great information about dysmenorrhea. Check it out and see if it sounds like what you might have. And no, I've never heard of the chocolate thing, but it doesn't hurt to try it. Good luck!

uhh...you need to talk to her about it. Birth control can help regulate your period, it doesn't mean you have to have sex.
