my period is 4 months late, ive had a pap, preg and blood test, nothinh showed up , what could it be?

Question:

Answers:
It could be down to any number of things, stress is the normal cause but other suggestions could be radical weight gain/loss, medication or just simply down to hormonal problems. If you are young (under 20) it would more than likely be down to your body still developing sexually and physically, if you are older you may be looking at menopause (late 30's).

Pap tests have nothing at all to do with telling you why your periods are delayed; blood tests can only show up so much, neither are going to tell you why your period is late.

Have you thought about using Fertility Awareness Methods to determine what is going wrong?

Have you attempted to induce your period, or have you attempted to regulate your period yet?

Other Answers:

I suppose it could be menopause.
Are you on a diet? Stressed out? Still very young (under 20)?
Stress?
You could just have an irregular cycle as alot of young women have that problem, me included. Go and get your hormones checked. When I was 14 I didn't have one for 5 months.
Stress and exercise both have a huge impact on your menstral cycle. Have you taken up a new sport or activity?

Anorexics also have issues with their menstral cycle. Are you at a healthy weight?

There is a condition known as Polycystic ovary syndrome that is fairly common (I have it) and it causes irregular menstration as well. (Info about it here - http://www.webmd.com/hw/womens_conditions/tw9104.asp)

How old are you? Is it possible that you are beginning menopause?
It could be a phantom pregnancy babe it happened to my girlfriends mum. Good luck anyways.
Hi you do not state your age, if an older lady this could be normal, if you are very young this could be normal, do you have any other symptoms? have you been on a diet and lost a lot of weight? have you gained a lot of weight lately? So difficult to take a guess I would suggest that you see a doctor to rule out any probs, good luck.
could be you have pocs see Dr about getting tested been over weight or losing weight can also make you miss periods

Stess maybe, or a side effect of medication. Only your GP can advise on this one if all the tests have come back as negative.
