Okay, so I now you are not supposed to have intercourse for 1-2 days before a pap smear. Does the same rule apply for masturbating?

I read that you shouldn't have sex for 24 hours before your scheduled Pap. My doctor told me it's because it can cause the test results to come out wrong. it could lead to an "abnormal" pap when in fact, you're okay. Basically, they don't want anything in the vagina for 24 to 48 hours before the pap (this includes douching, tampons, and having sex) so that they are getting the best test possible.

you can have intercourse.a pap smear is merely a scraping of the cervical cells.has nothing to do with intercourse or masturbation.

Technically you can have sex a day or two before a pap. i just wouldn' do it an hour or so before.

My gyno has always told me not to put anything in the vagina before a pap test. So I suppose you can masturbate as long as you don't insert anything inside.
