For female asthmatics: do you get "premenstrual asthma"?

Question:
Actually, that's not accurate; it makes it sound like the asthma only occurs before one's period does. *chuckle*

What I mean is, if you already are a person with asthma, do you ever have an increase in symptoms a few days before your period? This happens to me every few months: I have a slight chest tightness on-and-off (especially upon waking up), and I get slightly "winded" doing things that normally wouldn't make me out of breath.

When it happens, my doctor gave me the green light to double my daily dose of QVAR (beclomethasone dipropionate), an inhaled steroid.

I'm pleased to say I've found a surprising amount of data online that supports the existence of premenstrual asthma flare-ups in some women (a hormone connection, of course!) However, I've never actually known anyone it happens to. So, I'm asking the ladies here. :)

Does this happen to you? If so, what symptoms? Also, if you don't mind telling me, what is your age? (This never happened when I was younger).

Answers:
yes!! ok, i'm 18 and my first (and worst) asthma attack was 2 days before my first period started. also, i'm on the pill and i notice that if i'm late starting a pack, my asthma really gets alot worse.
