Will an IUD help with Severe Menstrual Cramps?

Question:
I have the worst cramps, each month. BCPs aren't working, and the prescription drugs aren't really helping as much as I'd like. I usually have to add an Advil or two a couple hours after taking the scrips. The OBGYN says she doesn't think I have problems with Endometriosis. Will an IUD help with the cramps?

Answers:
Yes it will help if you get MIRENA. If you get the Paraguard you are more likely to get worse cramps and heavier periods. It may take a while for your body to adjust and you will get cramping the 1st few weeks but after that you will be free of cramps. I get horrible cramps and super heavy periods and since on mirena I havent experienced neither

Now about wat the previous poster put about Infections its not that the IUD causes infections its that its harder to treat that's why its recommended that a woman be in a serious committed relationship! Critters do not climb up the strings! its no different if you didn't have it in what they only climb string and not walls?? Makes no sense but anyways you have to be in a committed relationship and you may face sterility but a slim chance of it
the mirena iud may help and is definitely worth a try, the copper iud will make them worse so stay clear if that one.
