Is it safe to use hating pads during pregnancy?
Question:
Answers:
Do you mean heating pad? if so, ask your doctor. I would think it would be OK just as long you don't put it on your stomach.

I'd recommend loving pads instead.
Do yuu mean a heating pad? if so yes- it was my best friend during my pregnancy- i used it soo much toward the end especially after the baby dropped I burnt it out
each heating pad usually has its own warning. In my house we've seen ones that you can use when pregnant, and ones that you can't use when pregnant. I'm not really sure why...
I'd call the Dr. to be sure. I don't think it is a good idea.
i used a heating pad during my pregnancy and my doctor said it was okay. maybe try icy hot.
As long as the heat isn't applied to the belly, it should be safe. Try rolling tennis balls along her spine, that's what they recommend during labor. I'm assuming you're a guy, but if not and you're the pg one, find someone to do it for you. Epsom salts may help also??
Well- I had sciatic nerve pain and I had tried using not heat pads- but just old fashioned hot water and baths, and it didn't get any better- well the one day since I worked at a pharmacy I broke down and bought some crutches cause the pain was getting so bad....well finally I broke down and went to the Dr....which is the BEST thing I could have ever possibly done- They put me on a TED machine (I think that is what you call it) It's a macine that shocks your nerves and has different shock settings, and some sticky pads that go to your nerves.....THAT worked miracles.
Yes, you can use dry heat or moist heat. Just follow the directions that came with your pad. If you've lost them, replace the pad; they're not that expensive. For sciatic pain, even a 15-minute soak in a warm bath can help. You can also use tylenol/acetomenophen, but be judicious: speak to your obstetrician first. He or she may recommend physcial therapy and ask you to minimalize your use of tylenol/acetamenophen.
It is NOT a good idea to try herbals while you're pregnant. Virtually noone has carefully studied their use during gestation, and they can have a profoundly negative effect on an unborn child.
