Is there such a thing as transplants of ovaries and fallopian tubes?

Question:

Answers:
They have been experimenting with ovarian tissue transplants for many years. A couple of years ago there was a woman who was able to produce viable eggs after having an ovarian tissue transplant. Now, you need to know that she was transplanted with her own tissue which was removed several years earlier and frozen before she underwent chemotherapy for cancer. They put the tissue back in 6 years later and this woman was able to produce viable eggs.

There is also at least one case of a woman who received ovarian tissue from her identical twin sister. This makes sense, because genetically speaking, identical twins are just that...identical, so that's almost as good as getting your own tissue implanted.

So, yes, it has been done. The procedure is still in its infancy, and is DEFINITELY not standard practice...but it has been done.

Other Answers:
There is, but it is still pretty rare. I just read an article where one twin sister gave an ovary to her twin sister and she was able to have a baby.
