what is teh Hymen do in girls body?

Question:
I want to know what hymen do in the girls body?

Answers:
The hymen is actually quite useful.

Think, if you will of a family of cave-men. There's daddy Ugg, mummy Uggina, and little Ugginella. Ugg is a man so he has no hymen. Little Ugginella is a 2 year old girl and she crawls and wobbles about the cave and the countryside naked. As she romps nude with her little cave-friends all sorts of tiny rocks, bits of leaf, grit, dirt and nasty bits get all over her body and even inside her vulva (oh no I hear you cry!) and poor little Ugginella could get very sick if all that stuff gets deep inside her. Luckily Ugginella has a hymen which comes in very handy as a physical barrier to dirt and disease (yay for the hymen!). Her mother Uggina has not got a hymen any more (it broke when Ugg's willy went inside her) but she does not need it as Uggina doesn't play in the dirt like a child.

So the hymen is useful to keep the vagina free from dirt and debris when a child is young and vulnerable to getting stuff inside her.

Other Answers:
It doesn't DO anything. It sorta like a seal in her vagina. It's broken during exercise or intercourse.

Nothing. It breaks when you have sex. can't add to those answers

The reason why the hymen is there is to protect the uterus from infection in growing girls.

Hymen: a thin membrane that surrounds the opening to a young woman's vagina. Hymens can come in different shapes. The most common hymen is shaped like a half moon. This shape allows menstrual blood to flow out of a girl's vagina.
